The Smith in Midtown East is one of our go-to spots in the city. We've been coming here for years, and it's become a favorite for everything from casual dinners to more celebratory nights out. The vibe is lively and fun, and the staff always goes out of their way to take care of us. If you can snag a spot, definitely try the blue cheese-dipped potato chips--they're addictive and one of our absolute favorite appetizers. We've also had the shrimp cocktail, which is fresh and tasty. Last time we were in, we ordered the crispy calamari, and it did not disappoint--perfectly fried and full of flavor. Sometimes they'll even treat us to a little something from the kitchen, which is such a nice touch and really makes you feel like a valued guest. For my main, I usually stick with the filet mignon. It's always cooked just right, and I especially love it with both the peppercorn sauce and chimichurri--it's hard to choose between them, so I usually just get both. And if you have room for dessert, the sticky toffee pudding is unreal. Warm, rich, and just the perfect sweet ending. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because it can get really loud inside, especially during peak hours. A bit more soundproofing would go a long way. Still, it's a fantastic spot overall and one we'll keep returning to!

The customer service was great! We were seated promptly with a reservation made last minute at around noon. We'd never been there so the waitress gave us a tour of the menu. My lover has her allergies! The waitress kindly explained their procedure and part of the procedure is making sure everyone knows on staff that this table has an allergy. That's a level of customer service you only receive in fine dining!!! And at this family restaurant it blew me away. The manager explained that her food would be cooked on a separate surface and marked with a flag to ensure the Chef expeditor and staff handle it with extra care, guaranteeing it comes out perfectly. I know I'm really really excited on something that seems simple but it really helps guests feel safe. We ordered these fantastic drinks with our complementary sourdough bread that was delicious and fresh. And our food was remarkable! My lover noted this is an excellent place to have a meeting with a client with cause you can like really impress them and have a classy meal! We will be back! My lover sooner than I with her girls!

I came here for brunch one day and had a good time. The inside of the restaurant is spacious and open. Staff here was really friendly. My friend and I got the avocado toast and the eggs benedict. Both portions were huge and neither of us finished our dishes. The avocado toast was full of avocado and came with two eggs and a salad. The eggs benedict came on top of a crispy waffle hashbrown and was full of salmon. Although it was a bit heavier and saltier than I would normally eat for my first meal, it wasn't bad! Would check it out for their dinner service.

Enjoyed our brunch experience. We were able to make a last minute reservation and just beat the brunch crowd. It's very bright and a perfect wake me up once you enter. I started with the oysters and the great Gatsby cocktail which was delicious and had me immediately relaxed . Service was perfectly spaced out where we didn't feel rushed and food came timely. Each one of us enjoyed our dishes and shared. My Benedict had a delicious ham, my friends pancake waffle was a delicious match with the smoked salmon. We sat a little longer than normal but was not rushed at all and they frequently refilled our water without us noticing. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Came for brunch on a Sunday before seeing Hamilton. Was able to make a reservation on open table no problem. Our waiter was patient and pleasant. He made suggestions and was available when we needed him. The vibe was cool. Nothing crazy. There was a nice amount of people but it wasn't packed and noisy. There was music playing but I was still able to run my mouth and hear my friend. The food was delicious. The menu had lots of options that sounded good. I got the smoked salmon Benedict which was delicious. A great portion and tasty. My friend had a chicken sandwich and breakfast potatoes. We both ordered the frozen drink. Delicious. Tasted like a vacation. Then we got another round of drinks and my Prosecco something was delicious. Both drinks were really good. This place was perfect for brunch, good drinks, and having a nice chat with friends.

This was a fun place to go with friends and my college daughter. it's definitely happening on a Friday night! We got spicy salmon tartare- crispy rice, avocado, siracha, and nori- this was delicious! Also got the crispy calamari without the sesame (happy to oblige)-gochujang aoli, thai basil and lime- good but not wow. And the blue cheese wedge- baby romaine, granny smith apples, red onion, blue cheese dressing and garlic breadcrumbs- very good We had malbec and a tito's with club soda as well. Service was pretty good as they were training someone else as well. The bathrooms are interesting as it feels like a trough- with private stalls for men and women There also was a photo booth as well! That was very different! It's a fun place to people m watch as well

I've been to this location a few times. It's good for a quick bite to eat. The service is always phenomenal, and the seating is spacious. I ordered the Chicken Parm special, and it was delicious. The bread was soft, the chicken was good, and the sauce they used had some spice. I wasn't sure what to get and decided on that, and I'm glad I did. My mother and I ordered mimosas, which was the only thing I was not impressed with. The waitress said they used freshly squeezed orange juice, which I questioned, and it was $17 each. Being in NYC, that price doesn't surprise me, but I would've gone for an espresso martini instead. I will always go back here when I am in the area, especially if I'm unsure of what I want but want good food.

A quick lunch on an unusually warm Dec 30 meant dining al fresco. Service was friendly and tentative, and food was fresh and consistent with other locations. People watching was abundant making this a nice NYC experience.
